"The Material Effect": Showcasing Solutions for Global Challenges

Under the guiding concept "The Material Effect" we showcased more than 25 innovation stories about how our materials expertise, combined with application and process development, enables innovative solutions for global challenges. Among the highlights at the booth that reflected what is possible with modern materials was the "SUE People Mover" – a self-driving urban e-shuttle, featuring various of our materials that are developed in collaboration with UE | STUDIOS (Uedelhoven Studios).

Co-Creation in Action: The SUE People Mover

The project perfectly illustrates our high-speed co-creation approach: Through close cooperation and mutual trust, we were able to suggest and provide customized, sustainable material solutions that met Uedelhoven Studios' highest requirements for design, functionality, and recyclability.

In the case of the people mover, that meant:

  • Transparent Makrolon® polycarbonate windows offering 360° panoramic views
  • Specialized materials for intelligent sensor technologies
  • Innovative interior concepts with 3D-printed Desmopan® AIR TPU seating foam, which offers comfort while reducing weight
  • Arfinio® surfaces that provide durability and design flexibility
